A New System for ETs & ACAS
A pilot for a new case management system for Employment Tribunals and ACAS Individual Conciliation called Caseflow started in the Nottingham Employment Tribunal and ACAS offices in late November 2009.
The main goal of this initiative is to deliver improvements in efficiency and effectiveness by replacing the current paper based system with an electronic one where appropriate information can be shared quickly between parties involved in a claim and the Employment Tribinal and ACAS.
The system won’t be rolled out to Employment Tribunal and ACAS offices in Scotland, Wales and the rest of England until a full evaluation of the pilot has been completed, which should be in approximately two months time.
Will a more streamlined system help reduce the number of claims that end up at Tribunals?
Will a more efficient system for transferring information between parties result in fairer and faster resoutlions to employment disputes?
I guess only time will tell but one thing is certain…….Employers will still need to make sure they comply with UK employment legislation to ensure they avoid paying out in compensation either as a result of the Conciliation process or the end of a costly employment tribunal hearing.
Is your business at risk? If one of your employees decided to take you to an employment tribunal how do you think your business would get on?
